Wipe-On Applicators

The wipe on method of label application dispenses a label from the liner at the peel bar and flags the leading edge of the label past the wiper bar to wait for a passing product. As the product passes, it comes into contact with the leading edge of the label and provides initial tack. As the product continues past the labeling point, the applicator continues to feed the label out at a speed consistent with product speed. The wiper bar assures that the label is completely affixed to the product. In some cases, the label is completely pre-dispensed onto a vacumized belt to achieve accurate placement onto a product that may be difficult to otherwise apply a label to.

Its advantages include high speed, accurate label application (often used in the prime label market), and the ability to label products in any attitude, meaning top, side, or bottom.
